JACQUELINE THOMAS…. The longest name in the world to a kindergartner. It would take me forever to write my name. I didn’t like my name when I was younger because it sounded too sophisticated and it wasn’t common. I despised when people spelled or pronounced it wrong, but now it's something I'm used to. Unlike In my childhood, I grew to appreciate my name as an adult. It looks good on resumes and it sounds sophisticated and mature. It doesn’t carry any special meaning to me, though.
My mother named me Jacqueline just because she like the name, nothing special. It originated from the French name Jacques. In the United States, it now ranks number 171, and in my birth year, 1992, it ranked number 76. My name peeked in 1964 and since then, it's been downhill. My last name, Thomas, originated from the Greek word Ta'oma' meaning 'twin'. No one in my family knows if our last name has been change sometime in the past. Everyone's last name is Thomas unless they got married.
Now days, I go by my nickname, Jackie. Its convenient, short, and saves everyone a lot of time pronouncing. Unlike Jacqueline, which is the total opposite.
